First we had Youtube Insight to monitor the traffic from our audiance. Now we have Analytics, which gives us much more tools to target our public. For example you can see where your videos are shown, like on the Youtube platform or in an embeded player. Also you can see if your vids were shared or suggested by others. To get more info about your audiance you get rich demographic and geographical data and charts. It’s a lot like Google Analytics, but that’s not strange…

Check out some of the latest features in Analytics:

  • A Quick Overview: A new overview provides all of the information that you care about quickly, while also enabling you to easily access more detailed information.
  • More Detailed Reports: Analytics now includes more detailed statistics so that you can have a more precise understanding of your content and audiences.
  • Audience Builders: Discover which videos are driving the most views and subscriptions.
  • Audience Retention: See how far viewers are watching through your video in the new audience retention report.

When I was about 14, my day was real simple. Get up, go to school, play some soccer, hang out with my friends, have dinner, watch TV and go to bed.

Nowadays, live is much more complex. When you are a 14 year old kid your day will be much more hectic. You get up, update your Facebook profile, tell The world how you slept on twitter, reply on your Blackberry messenger, have breakfast, rush to school, hear the teacher talking about difficult stuff, while updating all your friends on your status. After school you need to work a few hours, because you have to pay for your expensive phone bill. After work you go home to grab something to eat before expensive you hit the gym. When you finally get home, you need to meet up with your friends on the PSN network or Xbox live, because you will miss out on all the good stuff if you don’t. When the clock strikes twelve, you will hit the sack for a few hours, but not after first updating all your favorite social networks once more. If it is a good night, you friend who suffers from insomnia will leave you allone. If not he/she will have your phone going wild all night. Pfff it’s a hard knock live…..

During lunch I was offered a choice… should I get my lunch at Mac Donalds or would I go for the more quisine La Place. Luckely I chose the first. Besides just eating a couple of burgers, I was introduced to the new Easy Order system. This genius little machine makes the low waged cashier at Mac Donalds obsolte. It makes the customer the employee. A whole new experience in my book.

It works like this: you go to the machine, use the touchscreen to place your order, pay, receive a number and collect your food at the counter. You don’t even have to talk to no one, nice aighhh… The only thing I wondered: Where’s my wages, I did part of the work right?

I am a real fan of ecommerce, and this is where ecommerce meets real life. More of these features will arrise in near future I reckon. I can’t wait for the virtual IKEA so I never have to enter there again..

Ever wanted to keep a journal of all the beautiful moments with your closest friends. Path is the solution. It gives you a personal timeline which consists of snapshops made with your friends. If you watch the timeline grow, you get a nice view of you relationship in time.

Path has been active since the end of 2010 and now has about a million users. The difference with other social networks is that Path is real personal. You can only add 150 friends, because studies have calculated that a person can’t have more in real life.

Recently Path 2 has been released which makes the experience even richer. It now has a small quick launch icon which allow you to control the system even faster. So when you are fed up with all your fake Facebookfriends, you can enjoy this nice little product.

Path – Introducing Path 2 from Path on Vimeo.

Ever since I saw Onlive about a year ago, I frequently take a look at the system on my laptop. Onlive is a new way of gaming, where you play games in the cloud, just like the Google chromebooks do. It also has a big social feature, which makes it a lot of fun.

I have become a big fan of Onlive and can’t wait to get the Micro Console TV adapter, so I can enjoy the full experience on my bigscreen TV. It unfortuannaly still is available for the US only. Although there is an Ipad App, which I will get after I finished this article. On a scale from 1 to 5, Onlive scores a 6.

Sorry guys, have to quit now, Onlive is calling…

Google + has reached 40 million users. It still is a small social network compared to Facebook with it’s 800 million users. The difference: Google did it within 5 months.

The winning social network for the future in my opnion is Google+. Why you wonder? Because the Google + system is so much more than just a nice place to meet your friends, it is a platform where you can do about anything. You can simply use Gmail, work in the cloud, use the Google apps, do some shopping and find stuff with the search engine all with the rich experience from Google +.

The joint ventures with all the smartphone maker, will give Google the extra boost to secure it’s dominant position. The predictions from some experts are that 40% of all mobile device will work with the Android operating system in near future. Of course these devices will support Google + better than Facebook.

The only thing that worries me is the information bubble which Google creates. Making the search results to personal will give a matrix like idea. Google will decide what we see. As long as we keep using our brain, it won’t be a to big a deal I reckon.

WordPress Ipad App

First let me do a review on the free WordPress app on the Ipad. I thought it would be a good app to get so i could do some work during my bus rides to work. When you take a look at the app, it looks real easy. It’s so simple, that you only can choose between posts, pages, comments and stats. But when you look closer, and you start writing an article, you are confronted with HTML codes. This is really annoying, because i’m not a programmer and al these tags makes the articel look messy. That is the biggest fail in this app.

I still want to write though, so I simply created a shortcut to my WordPress dashboard on my startscreen. I wonder why the app doesn’t give me this rich experience. If I would have to grade the app om a scale from 1 to 5 I would rate it a tiny 2.. Sorry WordPress.

Hello world… My name is Mannardo, im a 35 year old teacher from Amsterdam the Netherlands. I’m interessed in technology, internet, gaming, trends and marketing.

In this blog, I will post some app reviews, talk about marketing, teaching and focus on the latest consumer trends. The world is due to the massive impact of the internet, changing faster then ever. I find this very interesting and started developing my own theory for dealing with it. The theory is best described as the well known phrase Ivolution.

In my work I have to deal with the Internet revolution in my classroom on a daily basis. My students are always online are easily distracted because they have the world in their hand in the shape of a smartphone. How to deal with this? Some of my collegues say ban the smartphone from the classroom, I don’t.

I try to use the technology to my advantage. You can’t inspire students or consumers with information they can get with the press of a button. This is why Ivolution is based on gaining new experiences, using the net to get fun stuff and making learning fun and effective. I use trial and error to master different skills.

Because the people nowadays have different needs and wants then 20 years ago. For example, I used to rembember over a hundred phonenumbers by heart. Now I even have trouble rembembering my home phonenumber. My Smartphone does the work for me. This is just one example of Ivolution..
